Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach and has many possible causes. Gastritis can be caused by alcoholism, prolonged use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or infection with Helicobacter pylori, major surgery, traumatic injury/burns. It presents with abdominal pain & bloating, belching and dyspepsia.

In diet preferably take a balanced diet which is easily digestible. Avoid fermentative foods which promote flatulance such as: Legumes, cabbage, heavy fats such as oils, sardines, smoked fish, fried potatoes, etc. Masticate or chew food well.
