Buying Guide: What to Look For
1. Platform Compatibility
Ensure your tracker works smoothly with your smartphone (iOS or Android). Apple Watches work best with iPhones, while Fitbit, Garmin, WHOOP, Samsung, and Oura are cross-platform.
2. Primary Fitness Goals
- Want guided workouts? Choose Fitbit or Apple.
- Hardcore training? Go for Garmin or WHOOP.
- Prefer something lifestyle-oriented? Try Samsung or Oura.
3. Sensors & Accuracy
Look for the latest sensors: heart rate, SpO2, temperature, and GPS. Garmin and WHOOP offer more data accuracy for endurance athletes.
4. Battery Life
Smartwatches typically offer 1–2 days (Apple, Samsung), whereas fitness-focused devices like Garmin, WHOOP, and Oura offer 4–14+ days
5. Subscription vs One-Time Cost
WHOOP operates on a subscription model. Apple, Fitbit, and Garmin may offer premium subscriptions, but basic features come built-in. Oura also requires a monthly membership for premium insights.
