About This Product

MycoBalance combines a probiotic yeast, Saccharomyces boulardii, with three bacterial strains, including L. rhamnosus GG, one of the most extensively studied probiotic strains, and a small amount of FOS. Each vegetarian capsule provides 250 mg of S. boulardii and 6 billion CFU of probiotic bacteria. It is designed for two situations: supporting your gut flora around a course of antibiotics, and keeping beneficial microbes in your everyday routine.

Why MycoBalance?

Your gut is home to trillions of microbes that help with digestion and keep the intestinal environment in balance. That community is resilient, but it can be disrupted, by antibiotics most of all, and also by changes in diet, routine and stress.

Probiotics don’t replace your own gut flora. Taken consistently, they add beneficial microbes to the mix while your gut does its own work.

Benefits and Uses

During an antibiotic course

Antibiotics act on bacteria, helpful and harmful alike. Taking MycoBalance during the course supports your gut flora while it is under pressure. The formula includes L. rhamnosus GG, a strain studied in many clinical trials alongside antibiotic use, and S. boulardii, a probiotic yeast that antibiotics are not designed to act on.

In the weeks after the course

Your gut flora keeps adjusting after the last dose. Continuing MycoBalance daily for at least one to two weeks keeps probiotic support going through that period.

As part of your everyday gut routine

If your meals are low in fermented foods, your routine is busy, or you simply prefer consistent support, one capsule a day is an easy way to keep beneficial microbes in your day.

Who may consider MycoBalance

  • Adults who are taking, or have recently finished, a course of antibiotics.
  • Adults looking for a simple daily probiotic as part of their gut-health routine.
  • Anyone whose healthcare practitioner has recommended a probiotic that combines yeast and bacteria.

MycoBalance is not suitable for people who are immunocompromised, critically ill or have a central venous line. Please read the precautions below.

Why combine a probiotic yeast with bacteria?

Most probiotics contain bacteria only. MycoBalance adds a probiotic yeast, and the difference matters most around antibiotics.

Antibiotics are designed to act on bacteria, so they can affect bacterial probiotics too. S. boulardii is a yeast, which antibacterial antibiotics don’t target.

Alongside it, each bacterial strain brings something of its own: L. rhamnosus GG is among the most researched probiotic strains, L. reuteri is a species naturally found in the human gut, and B. coagulans forms spores, a naturally hardy, protected form.

Different organisms, working in different ways, in one capsule.

Suggested Use

Take 1 capsule daily with water, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.

If you’re taking antibiotics: take MycoBalance at least 2 hours before or after your antibiotic dose. Continue through the course and for at least 1 to 2 weeks after it ends, or as your practitioner advises.
